Mr. Bimal Prasad Sharma is a seasoned banking and corporate professional with extensive experience in banking, human resources, risk management, law, corporate governance and strategic leadership. He began his career with Tata as an HR Executive and later joined Punjab National Bank (PNB), where he rose from Manager – Human Resources to General Manager. He subsequently joined Bank of India (BOI) as an Executive Director and served in senior leadership, including as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO).

Mr. Sharma has also held several board positions, including Chairman and Director of Bank of India (Botswana) Ltd., Director of Bank of India (Uganda) Ltd., and Director on the boards of NPCI and T. K. International Ltd. Following his retirement from Bank of India, he served as an Independent Director on the Board of Canara Bank from 2019 to 2025. His extensive experience provides a multidisciplinary perspective on people management, organisational strategy, risk management, legal and regulatory matters, corporate governance, strategic decision-making and sustainable organisational development.
